First of all, let me state that this is my first time writing a critique, so It may not be as in depth as some might be.
I love the color in this piece. Especially her hair. It contrasts so well with the rest of the piece. But the first thing that caught me attention was her eye. The make-up is so simple, but I believe it was best like that. It makes her eyes look sharp, like the glass. I love that you can see the tattoo on her wrist too. I like the fact that she isn't staring straight at the camera also. It makes the photo really come to life because if I was to be there, I wouldn't expect her to look at me while look forlornly of to the distance.
The only thing that takes away from this picture at all it the bottom of the picture. I think you could have cropped up quite a bit. My reasoning behind this, is her skin, while beautiful doesn't look as nice there. There is too much of that color in the picture, and I think cropping it to the lower part of her shoulder might have fixed it.
All in all, I love this picture. So many things were right about it, the emotion, color, the glass, her hair and eyes, that the thing I pointed out is almost irrelevant. So good job, and I hope to see more pictures like this in the near future.
Really like the contrast between the very soft sensitive look at the broken jagged glass. Her eye lash shape is unique and I can't help but looking at it over and over. I read the critique. In understand the opinion on the different color lower down and crop option. To me seeing the exposed side of the breast and different color adds to the whole story...so it works for me as is. It's a striking photo.
